Choosing between a gangway or a ramp to use as the transition between your your shore and your floating dock system can be incredibly simple. A good rule of thumb is to look at what your neighbors are using and think about how you’ll use your gangway or ramp. Gangways are helpful to span greater distances and when you need handrails (if the drop below the transition for instances is greater). Ramps are a nice choice for shorter spans and when handrails aren’t required (however, handrails are available as an add-on for ramps if you’d like them). Ramps
Ramps are a great choice for your dock-to-shore transition. Ramps are most commonly used in locations that have minimal water fluctuation, and in locations where the distance between the dock and shore is less than 8 feet. ShoreMaster Dock Ramps are constructed of high-quality aluminum and are precision welded to provide you with an attractive and long-lasting transition between your shore and your floating dock system.
ShoreMaster ramps are available in several sizes – 4’ x 4’, 4’ x 8’, and 6’ x 8’ – and can be used with all 9 of ShoreMaster’s premium decking options. Ramps feature durable aluminum construction and utilize two InfinityTrack accessory brackets to attach to the Infinity Dock System. Bolt-on roller kits are available and sold separately.
Gangways
Your gangway provides your first steps to whatever it is that you enjoy doing on your dock system. We understand the importance of making sure your gangway will provide you and your family years of safe, worry-free walks down to the dock. That’s why all ShoreMaster gangways are constructed with precision welded, high-quality aluminum for maximum durability and minimal maintenance.
Residential gangways from ShoreMaster are available in 4′ width with lengths of 16′, 20′, 24′. ShoreMaster gangways feature InfinityTrack handrails so they are easy to assemble and provide secure safety during use. Hinges, rollers, and transition plates are available to suit your location, dock system and on-shore setup. Gangways decking options include any of the 9 premium ShoreMaster decking options.
